Chapter 14 Come Back
Celeste chuckled, finding her grandfather’s imagination
amusing.
She thought, “That was months ago. Do you really think I could get pregnant from that?”
“Grandpa, he isn’t the father. But you should be happy that Imperial Estate will have an heir soon.”
Quentin raised an eyebrow. “To be the heir, they’d better be as capable as you are. I won’t settle for less.”
Celeste laughed. “Grandpa, my son will be even smarter than
I am.”
Quentin said with a hint of humor, “Let’s hope so. Then maybe I can finally rest easy in the Great Beyond.”
Celeste’s expression darkened. “Old man, if you keep talking like that, I’ll ignore you for a year.”
He was her only family, and she wasn’t about to let him go.
Quentin said with a laugh, “You stubborn girl. I’m getting up there in years; this day was bound to come sooner or later.

Don’t get all worked up. Go get some rest. I heard from your
brother that you’ve been cooped up in Royal Estate for a month, completely out of touch with the world. That’s more than enough time for you to heal. Starting tomorrow, get back
to work.”
Celeste was already planning to do just that.
The mess with the two–faced scoundrels needed cleaning up,
and her past was known only to the Hartley family.
She’d still have to sort things out with Madelynn.
“Grandpa, I promised you I’d handle everything I said I would. I’ve nearly wrapped up the core R&D for the new energy project. Once I’m back, I make sure to see it through properly.”
Quentin’s tone grew serious. “When you come back, there will be plenty of people who won’t be pleased. You need to stay
safe. I’ll be waiting for you.”
Celeste understood. She’d been missing for four years, but she
hadn’t been idle.
She kept track of the company’s affairs to some extent.
“Don’t worry, Grandpa. I’ll live long enough to make sure those scheming people get their comeuppance.”

“Ha! You always know how to make me laugh,” Quentin said,
clearly amused.
Celeste hung up and drove back to Royal Estate.
Her two estates, Royal Estate and Imperial Estate, were mirror
images of each other, facing back to back.
Before heading home, Celeste decided to pick up some
essentials.
She drove to a nearby mail, intent on updating her wardrobe.
When she approached to her shop, a man and a woman also
walked in
The woman cast a sharp, unfriendly look at Celeste. “Ms.
Hartley, it’s impressive how you just can’t stay away, isn’t it?”
