Chapter 15 Money’s Here
Celeste glanced at the newcomers with a subtle glint of mischief in her eyes. Leaning closer to Briar, she whispered, “Looks like the money’s here. You know what to do?”
Briar’s eyes lit up with understanding as she heard Celeste’s sly tone.
Her own smile took on a dark edge as she turned to Madelynn. “Got it.”
Celeste pointed to the clothes on the model. “I want all of these.”
“Of course, Miss,” Briar immediately transformed into the polite store manager.
She quickly directed other staff to attend to Madelynn and Nathaniel.
Celeste’s gaze met Nathaniel’s.
Her eyes were as cold as ever, while Nathaniel’s remained inscrutable.
Celeste’s icy demeanor remained unshaken, even in the

presence of Nathaniel. She kept her feelings tightly in check, revealing nothing.
Madelynn, noticing their exchanged glances, tightened her grip on Nathaniel’s arm and flashed a provocative smile. “Ms. Hartley, you shone so brightly at the auction. Now, you come here to buy KAVON’s clothes? Your man really does spoil you.”
Celeste’s smile was calm and unruffled. “Isn’t it only right that
my man takes care of me?”
Suddenly, a chilling stare pierced through her.
Celeste knew without looking that it was Nathaniel.
He turned to Madelynn with a tender gaze and a voice that was both deep and enticing. “Madelynn, you didn’t get the
purple diamond earlier, pick whatever you like now. My woman deserves only the best.”
Madelynn beamed with delight, overwhelmed by Nathaniel’s
affection.
She shot a triumphant glance at Celeste.
Celeste’s eyes dropped, reflecting a sense of disdain.
Madelynn thought, “This kind of treatment is likely something she’s never experienced herself.”

Madelynn was correct in her assumption. Nathaniel had never publicly acknowledged Celeste as his woman.
Nathaniel gave Celeste a dismissive glance, his anger reaching a boiling point.
Celeste smirked, thinking, “The difference between being loved and not loved is stark–Nathaniel has never spoken to me in such a manner.”
“Nathaniel, how could I let you spend so much? I’m not lacking anything. But a woman can never have too many clothes, so I’ll take everything here, alright?”
Her words were wrapped in faux humility, yet she made her intentions clear.
Nathaniel handed a card to Briar. “Charge it.”
Briar, looking apologetic, said, “Sir, the items over there were already picked by this young lady.”
Nathaniel’s penetrating gaze shifted to Celeste, wearing a wicked smile. “I’ll pay double for everything. Sell it all to me.”
Briar hesitated, glancing uncertainly at Celeste.
“Miss, this lady…”

Celeste nonchalantly glanced at Nathaniel’s striking features. He was the embodiment of arrogance and charm, with a face that could captivate anyone.
She gave a mocking smile, her tone laced with seductive indifference. “Give them to him. I don’t stoop to fighting with mistresses and lapdogs. It’s beneath my dignity.”
Madelynn’s eyes widened in shock as she heard Celeste
refer to her as a “mistress” again. Anger made her tremble. “Nathaniel, I’m not…”
She leaned into Nathaniel’s embrace, feigning distress.
Briar’s jaw dropped in disbelief. She thought, “She’s really playing the victim well. A little shake of the leg and the man would be all over her.”
Nathaniel’s eyes, cold and filled with intense pressure, locked onto Celeste. “Ms. Hartley, watch your words. If you push it, don’t blame me for being rude.”
“Oh?” Celeste raised an eyebrow, her voice dripping with a challenging edge. “Mistresses and scoundrels. Am I wrong?”
“Celeste, you’re asking for trouble!” Nathaniel’s anger erupted as he reached out, gripping Celeste’s neck with a deadly glare. “Celeste, you…”

His attempt to maintain control faltered as he faced Celeste’s nonchalant and taunting demeanor.
As he saw the hatred in her eyes, he found himself at a loss for words.
“Let… go,” Celeste choked out, her voice strained with pain.
Briar’s eyes flashed with a menacing gleam, her anger palpable as she thought, “How dare he bully my boss.”
With a determined stride, Briar moved to confront Nathaniel.
