Briar glanced at the vehicle ahead and nodded. “Boss, I’ll look into it right away. I’ll dig up her entire family tree if necessary. By the way, what about the company…”
Celeste paused, thinking, “I’m almost showing, and if Nathaniel finds out, he’ll do everything in his power to destroy me and the baby.
I know how ruthless he can be.
There is no way we can reconcile. I must have the baby on my
own.”
“Send all the documents to Royal Estate. I’ll be working from there. Landry will handle all external affairs as the executive president of the group, and you’re my assistant. Make sure to announce it on the website tomorrow.”
Briar’s excitement was palpable; she was finally going to have a chance to prove herself.
The past four years had been quiet and devoid of passion.
Returning to the company now felt like a breath of fresh air. She suddenly saw everything around her, even the toilet seat

at home, sparkling with new light. Fireworks and rainbows seemed to light up her heart.
“Boss, I finally get to show what can do!” Briar said, barely containing her enthusiasm.
Celeste looked at her exuberant smile and thought she
resembled a classic villain.
“Good, have Landry send all the company’s documents over
to me,” Celeste instructed.
Although she had been managing things on her own, there
were still a few shareholders causing trouble.
Despite her impressive achievements in recent years, some old–timers still saw her as just a young woman, making it hard for her to command respect.
A little mystery might not hurt.
“Got it!” Briar replied eagerly.
Back at Royal Estate, Celeste sent Briar away and headed
straight for the estate’s backyard.
Royal Estate was vast, featuring a sprawling garden, a pool, a main house, and two smaller buildings about half a mile away.

Celeste made her way to the basement, entered the security
code, and found Rebecca Hansen standing up, her small face lighting up with a smile as she greeted Celeste.
“Ms. Hartley,” Rebecca said respectfully.
Celeste gave a curt nod. “How’s Griffin today?”
Rebecca said, “Ms. Hartley, it’s been four months, and he’s
still the same. Since you brought him back, there’s been no change.”
Celeste walked over to Griffin, who lay motionless on the bed.
The soft light cast a gentle glow on his pale, handsome face.
Even in his unconscious state, he retained his striking features.
His eyes were shut tight, unresponsive to the outside world.
Celeste’s feelings were conflicted as she looked at Griffin.
During the fire, she had saved Griffin first before going back for Nathaniel.
By the time she returned for Nathaniel, he had already disappeared.
With Griffin in critical condition, she had to bring him back to the country for treatment. People were trying to kill Griffin, so

secretly.
Griffin had woken up once during that time, warning her that someone wanted him dead and that she shouldn’t let anyone,
not even Nathaniel, know he was alive.
Celeste realized months ago that the incident was a conspiracy aimed at Griffin, and Nathaniel had become an
unintended victim.
After she returned to the country, Nathaniel had met Madelynn and changed his heart.
Nathaniel didn’t know Celeste was there as well.
The thought of Nathaniel’s cold and disdainful gaze only deepened Celeste’s pain.
“Rebecca, I need you to do an ultrasound. I’m pregnant, and I haven’t had a check–up yet.”
Going to an outside hospital would risk Nathaniel finding out.
The thought of his cold, judging eyes made it hard for Celeste to control her inner turmoil.
“Ah…” Rebecca looked at her in surprise.
