Chapter 24 Your Place

Nathaniel’s eyes smoldered with a storm of emotions as he watched her elegant figure disappear. He fought the urge to chase after her with every fiber of his being.
She was like a beautiful mirage, enchanting yet untouchable.
The moment Madelynn heard Celeste say, “What on earth did I do to wrong you? Not only are you out for blood, but you want me dead too?”
A wicked plan took root in her mind.
“Tsk, tsk, Celeste. Please don’t blame me for being ruthless.
If anyone’s to blame, it’s you for being so foolish.
No, the absolute fools are you married couple.”
The deeper their love, the more they enjoyed tormenting each other. Neither could live without the other, yet they hurt each other in the most childish ways over the tiniest misunderstandings.
“Let’s go, Nate,” she said, her voice soft as she linked her arm with Nathaniel’s.

Modelynn. You can stay by my side quietly, but don’t meddle in my affairs. I’ll let this incident slide, considering you once pulled me out of that fire.”
Madelynn froze, realizing she’d overlooked something crucial.
A man’s pride was not to be questioned, especially when it
involved his ex–wife.
“Nafe, are you upset with me? I was only trying to help. But you saw how arrogant Celeste was being. She clearly has no intention of helping you.”
Madelynn lowered her head, feeling wronged. In reality, she’d simply taken advantage of the situation. She never had the guts to rush into a fire to save anyone.
He was supposed to be her fiancé, yet he married Celeste. She had no choice but to win him back.
He was so exceptional, the dream man of countless women.
“What right did Celeste have to marry him?” she always wondered.
That was why she hatched that terrible scheme.
Chapter 24 Your Place
In the end, Celeste took the fall for everything.

Nathaniel’s eyes, cold and slightly naughty, were hard to look
at directly. “Let’s go,” he said.
“Alright, Nate. Let’s head in,” she cooed, gently linking arms. with Nathaniel.
Briar emerged from the restroom, surprised to see Nathaniel and Madelynn instead of Celeste.
Her heart skipped a beat. “Where was the boss?
Had those two scumbags driven her away?”
“Well, well. Aren’t you Celeste’s little sidekick?” Madelynn’s sharp eyes locked onto Briar.
Briar didn’t want to talk, but hearing Madelynn’s words, she stopped in her tracks and gave her a once–over. “Hey! You look perfectly normal to me. What’s wrong with you? Did you get kicked in the head by a mule and go blind? What’s all this ‘little sidekick‘ nonsense? Ma’am, what era are you living in? You’re so out of touch.”
Madelynn was left speechless.

“Oh, cut the act. You’re as fake as a three–dollar bill.
Compared to our boss, you’re not even in the same league. And don’t think I’ve forgotten about your schemes against our boss. I’m not letting that slide.”
With that icy warning, Briar jogged off.
Madelynn stomped her foot in frustration. “Nate…”
“Enough. Why’d you have to pick a fight with her?” Nathaniel mused, recalling how Celeste never used to attend these
gatherings.
Even when he asked her to come, she would always find
excuses to decline.
“Why did she come tonight?
Celeste, how many things was she hiding from me?”
Seeing his lousy mood, Madelynn didn’t say anything more, but her heart was filled with immense hatred for Celeste.
She would definitely make Celeste regret being born into this
world.
“Hey! Nathaniel, you’re here. If I didn’t see wrong just now,

your ex–wife also came.” Leon sauntered over to Nathaniel’s
side.
Dressed in a white suit, if not for his carefree demeanor, he would have had the aura of a domineering CEO.
“Oh! Maddie, you look stunning tonight!” Leon couldn’t help but compliment her.
But compared to Celeste, whom he had just seen, it was a world of difference.
Celeste, after the divorce, could be so radiantly beautiful on her own.
