CASSANDRA
Emilio had assured her he wouldn’t he upset if she was pregnant, but Cassandra still can’t find the words tell him, even during the long flight to Barcelona. She makes a silent promise to herself that she’ll tell him soon.
When they reach his family’s mansion, Emilia, his mother, is thrilled fo see Alex. Her first words to Cassandra are, “You’re glowing.” She glances between her and Emilio, her smile wide. “”Good news?”
Cassandra feels their gazes on her. Why can’t she just say it?
“Cassie isn’t pregnant, Mother,” Emilio jumps in. “Isn’t that right, sweetheart?”
“Well, there’s no harm in hoping.” his mother replies. “She looks different.”
“I’ve noticed it too,” Emilio agrees, his hand caressing her waist through her dress.
Cassandra knows she won’t be able to hide her pregnancy from Emilia. She needs to talk to her alone
Emilio’s phone rings, and he steps away.
Once he’s gone, Cassandra asks her mother–in–law, “How are you feeling?”
“I’m okay. The doctor said I’m out of danger but I still need to take it easy.” She turns the conversation back to Cassandra. “Are you okay? You look like you’re carrying the weight of the world. Is everything alright between you and Emiliano?”
“Everything’s perfect. I’ve never been happier. Emilio is a wonderful husband; he treats me like I’m his everything, like I’m the only woman for him.”
Cassandra’s throat tightens and tears sting her eyes. He’s been the perfect husband these past few weeks, acting as if he loves her, and she should’ve told him everything. Guilt is gnawing at her.
Emilia touches her hand. “Cassandra, what’s wrong?”
“I’m pregnant, Mother, and Emiliano doesn’t know, I’ve tried to tell him so many times, but I just can’t.”
“Why not? Doesn’t he want another baby?”
Cassandra shakes her head. “He made it clear from the start that he didn’t want another baby, and now I’m pregnant.“”
“This is wonderful news!” Emilia beams. “There’s no need for you to be so upset I’m sure he’ll understand. I knew when I saw you that you looked different.”
“I’d like to tell Emilio, if that’s okay.”
“Of course, my lips are sealed.” Emilia can’t stop smiling. “How far along are you?”
“Just over seven weeks. I have a doctor’s appointment next week.”
“Fantastic!” Emilia exclaims. “I’m coming with you, and I won’t take “no” for an answer.“”
Cassandra has work next week, but she can always call and ask for a few days off. “Okay, but my doctor…”
“Don’t worry, I’ll make an appointment here for you. I have a friend who’s a doctor.”
She gives Cassandra a hug just as Emilio walks back in.
“What did 1 miss?” he asks.
“Oh, nothing.” Emilia says. “I’ın going to check on dinner.”
When his mother leaves, Emilio looks at Cassandra. “I have to go out for a bit–will you be okay?” She nods. “I’m meeting a client.”
“There’s no need to
“I know,” he interrupts, “but you’re my wife, and I don’t want you to think I’m cheating on you.” “I know you won’t”
12:51 PM
She truly believes that now. She knows he would never do something like that to her.
n you’ll find out.” Emilio leans in and gives her a kiss.
“You have no idea how much you mean to me, Cassie, but soon you’ll find
What did he mean by that? She wonders as he leaves. Will she finally hear those words her heart is longing for? Does he realize he can’t live without her? Does he want her to be pregnant?
It’s nice to dream about something that will never happen, Cassandra thinks.
Dinner that night is pleasant, though quieter without Emilio. His mother can’t stop talking about the new baby, even confessing that she hopes it will be a girl.
Emilia’s mood is infectious, and for the first time since she found out she was pregnant, Cassandra feels happy about it. She’s going to be a mother again, and there’s no greater feeling. She also hopes to give Alex a little sister.
She’s having another baby, and if Emilio isn’t happy about it, she’ll just raise their children alone. At least she’ll always have a part of him in Alex and their new baby.
Late that night, Cassandra hears Emilio shower and come to bed. He doesn’t make love to her, only holds her in his arms the whole night.
The next morning, nausea wakes Cassandra up, but luckily Emilio has already left the bedroom. She rushes to the bathroom, and whent she’s done being sick, she brushes her teeth and washes her face. Turning around, she bumps straight into Emilio’s broad, muscular
chest.
As she stumbles, his arm wraps around her waist, steadying her. Cassandra wonders how long he has been waiting just inside the doorway. “W–what are you doing here?” she asks nervously.
“I live here.” Emilio replies. “And the last time I checked, this is our bathroom.”
She tries to step out of his arms, but his hold tightens.
“That’s not what I meant.”
“Then tell me what you meant, my sweet, beautiful wife” His fingers stroke her cheeks.
“How long have you been standing here?”
“Not for long.” She starts to unwind. “You’re looking a little pale–are you okay?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m good. Is Alex up yet?”
“He’s with my mom. She’s in a really good mood this morning–any idea why?”
“Nope. Maybe she’s just happy to see Alex.”
Emilio’s hand moves to her breast, his thumb and forefinger circling her nipple. A soft moan slips from her lips.
“We don’t have time for that,” Cassandra murmurs, leaning into him.
“Your body seems to disagree,” he whispers in her ear, his other hand already under her dress. He strokes her thigh, and she he touches her most intimate spot. He nibbles her earlobe. “So hot and ready for me, my beautiful Cassandra.”

Emilio lifts her up and places her on the vanity countertop. There, he teases her sensitive bud while drawing her nipple into his eager mouth.
“Oh……..” Cassandra sighs, gripping his shoulders. With Emilio’s teeth nuzzling, nibbling, and grazing and his fingers creating a world of pleasure below, it doesn’t take long for her to lose control and shatter in his arms. She cries out.
Before she can catch her breath, Emilio stands between her legs, slides into her wet warmth, and covers her mouth with his. He doesn’t waste any time, each thrust stronger and more intense than the last.
As her husband quickens his pace, Cassandra can feel pressure building in her body again. A few moments later, she surrenders to her pleasure, and Emilio follows suit. His body trembles, and his mouth hungrily meets hers. When they finally break apart, they are both panting heavily.

panting heavily.
“Cassandra…?” Emilia’s voice comes from the bedroom. Cassandra instantly tenses and pushes Emilio away. “Are you up yet?“”
“Yes, I’ll be right out,” she says, thanking God Emilio closed the bathroom door. “Move,” she whispers to him, but he doesn’t budge. “Did you need something?” she asks Emilia.
“No, I just wanted to see if you’ll have breakfast.”
Cassandra quickly wraps herself in a bathrobe and heads out, leaving Emilio alone. “Yes, I will,” she says, “but first.”
“Okay, we’ll be waiting. Is there anything specific you’d like so I can tell Annah? I know”
going to shower
“No, I’ll have whatever there is.” Cassandra interrupts, worried Emilia will bring up her pregnancy. “Peppermint tea would be nice if there’s any,” she adds.
I’ll let Annah know.”
After his mother leaves, Emilio steps out of the bathroom still naked. Cassandra blushes. “Why aren’t you dressed? Breakfast is ready.” she says.
“I was waiting for you so we could shower together,” he replies, pulling her back into the bathroom.
“Emilio, we both know where that I lead.
“I promise I’ll behave.”
To his credit, he does, and soon they are heading downstairs.

“Do you two have any plans for the day?” Emilia asks halfway through breakfast.
“Not that I know of,” Cassandra answers.
“I was thinking we could go shopping.”
“That’s fine by me,” Cassandra glances at Emilio. “Will you be okay without me?”

“Absolutely, enjoy yourself. I’ll happily spend the day with my son.”
“That’s settled then,” Emilia says. “We’ll leave after breakfast.”
Ted his arm
A little while later, Cassandra is leaving the bedroom when she bumps into Emilio. The impact knocks the wind out of her, and immediately wraps around her waist, steadying her.
“Are you okay?” he asks. “Did I hurt you?”
“Why do you have to be so big? You literally took my breath away.” Cassandra gives him a reassuring smile. “Other than that, I’m okay.”
“I’m sorry,” he says sincerely.
“I forgive you.” Dizziness clouds her vision for a few seconds, and then it clears. “What’s the rush?” she asks.
Emilio hands her a credit card. “Buy some lingerie for yourself. Something sexy.” A slow, seductive smile spreads across his face.
Cassandra smiles back. “Very naughty of you, Mr. Rodriquez.”
“What can I say? You do this to me. He gives her a slow, gentle kiss.
“Anything else, master,” she purrs, taking the card.
“You naked underneath me, writhing and squirming with need,” Emilio murmurs close to her ear. “Me buried deep inside of you.” Cassandra can feel her body respond to his words. “Picture that, sweetheart.”
“Emilio….” she croaks. “Please…T–I need to go, and you’re not making it easier by whispering such erotic things in my ear.”
**You could always stay,” he says, nuzzling her throat. His arousal is thick and hard between them. “You want me. Chapter 46 of 57: Chapter 46
“Yes,” she admits.
“Are you wet
for me?
“Extremely,” Cassandra whispers, pressing herself into him.
“Mother is waiting for you downstairs.”
“Huh?” she asks, dazed. Emilio grins at her. “Really?” she says, hitting him. “You got me this hot for you for no goddamn reason?”
He chuckles. “It’s not my fault you’re going shopping.”
Cassandra glares at him. “I so hate you right now,”
And I’m head over heels in love with you.
She can hear Emilio laughing as she angrily makes her way downstairs. Damn you, Emiliano Rodriquez!
“You okay? Emilia asks at the front door.
No, her body is on fire, eagerly waiting for Emilio’s kisses and touch. She won’t forgive him for doing this to her.
“Yeah, I’m good. Ready to go?”
As they step into the first of what Cassandra suspects will be many boutiques, she turns to her mother–in–law. “Mom, is this shopping. spree just a cover so you can ask me something you can’t in front of Emilio?”
Emilia pauses, her hands full of gorgeous dresses. “Do I need a reason to shop with my daughter–in–law?”
“No, it’s just-
“But since you brought it up…” Emilia starts, and Cassandra can’t help but grin. “I’m so thrilled about your pregnancy, I could burst. You can’t imagine how happy I am that you and Emiliano are having another baby. Little Alex won’t be an only child anymore. What are you hoping for?”
“I don’t know… Maybe a sister for Alex.”
“I can already see all the adorable dresses and bows we’ll get for her. When you start shopping for the baby, I want to be there I hope that’s okay.”
“Of course, it’s okay. I’m just wondering when I’ll gather the nerve to tell Emiliano the truth. Do you think he’ll accept the baby and love it like he does Alex?”

Emilia takes Cassandra’s hands in hers.
“Absolutely, he will. Why not try telling him tonight? You two could go out for dinner and have a private chat.”
