Ruby hadn’t grasped the situation yet. She yanked Jayden up from the ground. “What’s wrong? You did nothing wrong. You’re about to make big money. So what if she has a house? Come on! Let’s go live at my
place.”
I don’t know what kind of dream Jayden sold to Ruby, making her
think this loser could make big money.
As far as I know, Jayden has been working on construction projects. for three years, and he hasn’t even managed to become a project
leader.
“I only made the mistake every man makes!”
Before leaving, Jayden kept making excuses, revealing hist unrepentant heart.
The lady from 501 continued, “A capable man makes his wife beautiful and earns money for the family. You just want to be the rotten vegetable in the trash can. And some women love picking up garbage. No wonder you two are made for each other.”
She spoke while pointedly glancing at Ruby.
I didn’t stay silent either. “A man nobody else wants, and you treat him like a treasure. Did you forget that as soon as he heard I had a
house, he tried to break up with you? Now that I’ve dumped him, he’s

running back to you. Even a stray dog I pick up off the street is more loyal than him!”
“Well said, Ms. Carter!” The lady from 501 led the applause.
Hearing this, Ruby lost her nerve but still tried to hold on. “We are living sweetly together. You guys just don’t be jealous of us.”
“Is that so.” Every word Ruby said sounded like aige joke to me.
Seeing the two of them, beaten and bruised, still greedily eyeing my house, shamelessly refusing to leave, the lady from 501 went up and slapped them both again.
“What are you looking at? This house isn’t yours. You’ve been told to get out, and you’re still standing here embarrassing yourself!”
Ruby was about to fight back. Seeing that we had the numbers, she reluctantly pulled Jayden away, ready to leave.
Seeing them about to move their things into 502, I smiled and blocked
their way.
“Sorry, Ruby, I forgot to mention earlier, I mean, you two can start getting out now.”
Ruby arrogantly pushed me aside.
“This is my place. You and Jayden are getting divorced anyway. We’re going to live a good life. What right do you have to kick us out?”

I laughed. “Your place? Can you two even afford to buy a house?”
“Even if we can’t buy one, so what if we’re renting? Only the landlord has the right to kick us out.”
Funny thing is, I’m actually the landlord.
I pulled out another property deed. The unit number clearly printed
on it was 502.
“Mistress, can you see clearly now? Is this your place or mine?”
Ruby took it and stared at it for a long time before she finally realized and stammered, “This house. It’s really yours?”
I smiled, pointing dominantly at 502. “Didn’t you say only the landlord has the right? Well, I’m telling you now, I’m not renting this place anymore. I’ll pay you the full penalty for breaking the lease, but there’s only one condition. Move out immediately!”
Under the crowd’s pointing and whispering, Ruby and Jayden, with
their heads hung low, moved out that very night.
Before Jayden left, he gave me a resentful look, as if blaming me for not telling him I had money.
Heh, we’re not done settling this score yet.
