Chapter 5
It was exactly as I turned around when I heard a thud. Killian sank to his knees when he heard the news, the floor receiving him openly.
He didn’t even know she died. He probably didn’t even know we were attacked by the Rogues. He didn’t even know our daughter was killed Beta Hestia looked behind, her eyes meeting mine.
But I just gave her a tight nod and walked away with my packed things.
I’m no longer dealing with my mate’s whims.
I already contacted one of the Alpha King’s Betas to pick up my things first. I have one important thing before I leave the Silver River Pack entirely: bury Deanna.
We were in the pack‘ s cemetery when the rain suddenly poured, thunder roared in the distance. It’s as if the night sky is as sad as I am. My tears blended with the drops of rain running down my face, the cold wind caressing my cheeks.
“Luna.” Beta Lucas was instantly beside me, his black umbrella suddenly shielding us from the rain. “I’m sorry. Deanna should have been our priority but the Rogues have surrounded Hestia and I even before we can call out to her. Its all our fault-”
“No, Lucas.” I wiped my tears and looked at him with red–rimmed eyes. “It’s not your fault. If there is someone to blame, it’s the one who’s not present to defend us. Killian should be blamed.”
“The Alpha is-”
“The Alpha,” I cut off, “was busy with Nichole who was giving her a lap dance during the entire time we were fighting for our lives.” Beta Lucas wanted to say more, but he was smart enough to keep his mouth shut.
The daisies in my hand felt heavier, knowing it would be the last daisy I’d be giving Deanna. It’s her favorite flower. She said it resembles her hair and it looks like a little blooming sun in her tiny hands.

I inhaled a deep breath. There was only me, Beta Lucas, Beta Hestia, the Omega who was with us during the attack. I know more and more of the Silver River packmembers are arriving, paying their respects but I no longer heed them. Filippa, the pack healer, and the Head Doctor were the ones tending to my daughter’s body, preparing her for burial.
I told them to keep the dress and her little tiara. Deanna would like that. I can also hear my little moon’s voice telling me that.
The rain stopped, and I gave a silent prayer to the Moon Goddess for it.
But then, I silently cursed under my breath when I saw who was standing across the road.
Alpha Killian–with a bouquet of daisies in his hand.
“How dare you show up here? I told you I don’t want to see your eyes ever again.” I didn’t try to hide the hatred in my face, the rage in my voice, and the disdain that sent my hands trembling.
Beta Lucas held me as if to keep me rooted in place as if to prevent me from attacking the Alpha.
Chenault growled with anger within me, and I let Alpha Killian see my wolf‘ s eyes.
“Sellyn,” he started. His hands gripping the flowers tighter. “I know I have hurt you…”
“Well if you do then why do you keep hurting us more by showing up here?!”
Killian swallowed, “I only want to pay my respect to my daughter. To our Deanna.”
“Respect?” I clicked my tongue. “Do you even respect Deanna back when she was alive? You didn’t even respect her today when you left her birthday party to fuck Nichole!” I made sure every single one present heard it. I want the whole pack to know what their Alpha has done.
“Sellyn, I-” Then he was now kneeling, the bouquet of daisies going

with him on the ground. The muddy soil, thanks to the rain, stained his jeans. “Please don’t leave. I–I will do anything. Anything, Sellyn. And please just…just keep the incident from your father, the Alpha King. I don’t want to break his heart knowing his one and only granddaughter has died at her birthday party. Please, Sellyn. Please, have mercy on your mate!”
The audacity of Killian to beg at my daughter’s funeral was on another level. He never begged me like this before. In fact, he never begged me. It was I who always begged him and pleaded with him.
“Now you know how it feels like to desperately beg,” I spat, looking down at him beneath my lashes.
I was about to say more when a familiar scent interrupted my senses. She was wearing red, her perfume bright and alluring as if she was attending a dinner date.
“Luna Sellyn. Alpha Killian,” Nichole feigned greetings. And between her hands….
“Why are you holding an urn? Where’s my daughter?”
“The pack healers and I burned her according to you, Luna Sellyn.” “YOU WHAT?”
Now that storm of anger has taken over me. “I never ordered anything! I simply told the healers to tend to her body and keep her dress and tiara untouched!”
I was shouting now, probably screaming.
Nichole pretended to be afraid and laid the urn before my feet. The rain wet its silver and blue exteriors.
“Get out of my sight, Nichole,” I growled, my claws unsheathed. “I never ordered such a thing. How dare you burn my daughter!!!”
With that, I swipe at her exposed cheeks.
Her eyes widened with fear. Killian, in the corner of my sight, rose from where he was kneeling.
But it wasn’t enough. When Nichole faced me again, I slapped the
